Escape Plan Games Tavern Tales Volume 1
Escape Plan Games is a Tabletop Games company. As part owner, I am in charge of all Graphic Design, Layout, Logos, Ads, Marketing, Web Design, etc. We have just released our first Book "Tavern Tales Vol. 1" a 300-page D&D 5e Supplement Book.
Iconography System
Tavern Tales Vol I required a ton of graphical elements. We designed a whole new iconography system for 5e books in an attempt to solve problems searching around adventure modules for DM's.
The Icon system highlights pertinent information and relays it between you and the book or module efficiently.
A Trip Away Inn Physical Menu
We wanted a fun addition to the book that enhanced player immersion. So we designed a fully functional in-universe menu that includes all the food, cocktail, and even beer brewing recipes inside. We hired chefs and mixologists to create the wonderful concoctions inside, and I even made some of them myself in a friend's restaurant (The Jack, Camden ME).
Tavern Tales Dice Set
I had a lot of fun with this project. We wanted something to offer in addition to the book and menu that spoke to the carnival fun nature of the Tavern in the book, "A Trip Away Inn".
To Live and Die in the West (2018 - Current)
A Tabletop Role-Playing game set in the wild west. From this game Escape Plan Games was born. To Live and Die set the tone for the company and highlighted what the designer role was going to require and how I could fill that role. Work in Progress, est. release 2025.
Character Sheet (TLAD)
Like most Tabletop roleplaying games we ended up with a rules system that has a lot of variables. So here is my design to streamline the players experience regarding character management. I had a lot of fun designing this sheet and it evolves as the game changes in play-testing.
Layout (TLAD)
One of the first larger books I layed out. I needed a simple design that could easily update and had a uniform look, because the book is a work in progress. Simple rough brush strokes in different colors to differentiate sections worked great. I plan to revamp the entire layout design once the final edits are locked in.
